Question Tag Introduction

What is question tag?

Question tag is a grammatical structure in which a declarative statement or an imperative is turned into a question by adding aninterrogative fragment

Subject of question tag should be a personal pronoun. If the question is positive, then its question tag should negative, and so instead, if question is negative, then its question tag should positive

Question tag is used to convince question we asked. For example In Indonesian like this:

ini pena kamu, kan?

This 'kan' word is called with question tag

(the subject is pen, then personal pronoun for pen is It, the sentence is present tense and to be for it in present tense is "is", so that its question tag is "isn't it" for other example:
this is your pen, [question tag]

so, full sentence is:
This is your pen, isn't it?

To reply the question tag same with reply question corresponding with form of sentence, for this example form of sentence is present tense, so that way to reply is:

This is your pen, isn't it? Yes it is or No it is not

Special note: Statement I am must be followed with question tag "are not I", not "am not I"

Other examples are:
-. This is my hat, isn't it? Yes, it is / No, it is not
-. Helen is reading, isnt't she? Yes, she is / No, she is not
-. Jack is writing, isn't he? Yes, he is / No, he is not
-. Jack was in his office, wasn't he? Yes, he was / No, he was not

or:

-. This is my hat, isn't it? Yes, it is my hat / No, it is not my hat
-. Helen is reading, isnt't she? Yes, she is reading/ No, she is not reading
-. Jack is writing, isn't he? Yes, he is writeing/ No, he is not writing
-. Jack was in his office, wasn't he? Yes, he was in his office/ No, he was not in his office
