BIT is abbreviation of BInary digiT, so bit is digit in binary numbers system (base 2).

Example:

si
  • number 1001011 has a length of 3 bits
  • number 10 has a length of 2 bits
  • number 101 has a length of 3 bits

BIT is the smallest unit of digital information on electronics in processing optical information, storage or transmition system
